Best Quarantine Protein: EGGS .. More Click for Your $$$$

 

An inexpensive and high-quality protein, eggs contain the vitamins A, D and E, calcium, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, phosphorus, selenium and zinc.  A complete protein food, eggs contain all nine (9) of the essential amino acids.  Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and essential means the body can’t make these itself so you must eat them.

 

If you need to watch your cholesterol intake – eggs can still be part of your life.  The egg white at least. The egg whites from three (3) large eggs equals 50 calories and are fat-free and cholesterol-free. The average Large, whole egg provides 75 calories and five (5) grams of fat.

 

Dyeing hard-cooked eggs for Easter?  For food safety reasons discard any raw cracked eggs and once cooked, be sure to keep them refrigerated at 40 degrees Fahrenheit (F) or below when not being eaten.  Once hard-cooked in the shell, use them within one (1) week.  Never leave hard-cooked eggs sitting out at room temperature for more than two hours, one hour when the temperature is 85 degrees  F or hotter.
